Heather enjoys working with teens to develop the self-esteem, self-knowledge, life skills, and social skills to believe in themselves, connect with others and thrive in our ever-changing world. It’s so tough to be a teen and our technology driven lives have made it more challenging than ever before.
While she was training to become a therapist, Heather completed an internship specializing in psychological testing and developed a passion for conducting IQ testing and ADHD evaluations with kids through adults. She conducts IQ testing for children to determine if they qualify for gifted programs.
Like many of her clients, Heather’s journey through life has been filled with ups and downs, but her positive attitude, belief in herself and her faith have enabled her to create a meaningful life.
Heather earned a BS in General Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, an MBA from Rockhurst University and a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kansas. She began her career in the Army and then worked in Senior Management at Hallmark Cards before running her own photography business while completing her graduate training in psychology.
When she is not working, Heather enjoys working out, reading, trying new restaurants, and hanging out with her friends and family. She and her husband have a blended family of 6 kids. Her mantra in 2018 is the word LESS, meaning LESS stuff in her life, LESS clutter, LESS obligations and MORE time for the things that bring her joy.
