Sexual Wellness Isn’t Just for the Young—It’s for You, Too

The Villages is known for its vibrant, active lifestyle—and that includes your relationships and intimacy. But even in a community full of energy, many people quietly struggle with issues like low desire, erectile dysfunction, menopausal changes, or a lack of emotional connection with their partner.

I offer relationship and sex therapy in the Villages. Together, we create a safe, confidential space to explore what's getting in the way of your sexual well-being and to rediscover joy, connection, and pleasure. Whether you're navigating sex after retirement, post-cancer recovery, or dating in your 60s and beyond, you're not alone—and help is available.

As someone who is in her early 60’s, I can relate to your life stage and your desire for fun, love, emotional and physical health, and fulfilling, enjoyable sex.

Caring Support for Common Sexual Concerns

Real Problems. Real Solutions. Without Embarrassment.

You may be surprised to know how common sexual concerns are among adults 55 and older. Some of the most common reasons people seek sex therapy include:

  • Low desire or mismatched desire in a relationship

  • Erectile dysfunction (with or without medical conditions)

  • Menopausal changes that affect arousal or comfort

  • Communication problems around sex and intimacy

  • Feeling “shut down” sexually after illness, cancer or trauma

  • Dating and intimacy after divorce or loss

  • Concerns about STIs or sex after long-term monogamy

Through evidence-based therapy, you can explore the physical, emotional, and relational factors affecting your sex life—and create a path toward healing, connection, and fulfillment.

What to Expect in Sex Therapy

Supportive. Respectful. Tailored to You.

Starting sex therapy can feel intimidating—but it doesn’t have to be. In our work together, you’ll find a warm, respectful environment where you can speak openly about your experiences, concerns, and goals without fear of judgment.

Here’s what the process typically looks like:

1. Initial Consultation

We begin with a confidential conversation where you can share what’s been going on—whether it's physical, emotional, or relational. You’ll have space to talk about what’s not working and what you hope to change.

2. Personalized Plan

Based on your needs, we’ll create a customized plan. That might include improving communication with a partner, understanding the impact of aging or medications on sexuality, or working through emotional or psychological barriers to intimacy.

3. Tools and Strategies

You’ll learn practical strategies that support your sexual health and emotional connection. These might include education about anatomy and arousal, guided exercises for couples, techniques to reduce anxiety, or referrals to medical professionals if needed.

4. A Path to Reconnection and Confidence

Over time, clients often report not only improved sexual experiences but also deeper connection, increased self-confidence, and renewed excitement about this important part of life.

Sex therapy is a process—not a quick fix—but it’s a powerful way to reclaim joy, connection, and vitality.

Create an amazing retirement.

Expert Online Sex Therapy

As a PhD-level, AASECT-Certified Sex Therapist and West Point graduate with an extensive corporate leadership background, I provide specialized support for active adults, retirees, and accomplished individuals thriving in The Villages community.

My clients are vibrant, engaged people who've built successful lives but may be experiencing private challenges with intimacy or relationship dynamics.

Privacy and discretion are paramount in my practice. I offer secure, HIPAA-compliant virtual sessions that allow you to receive professional support from the comfort of your home—whether you're in Spanish Springs, Lake Sumter Landing, or any neighborhood throughout The Villages.

The credentials matter: working with an AASECT-Certified sex therapist means you're getting someone with rigorous, specialized training rather than general therapy experience.

I address the relationship and intimacy challenges that can emerge during this stage of life—communication difficulties, feeling disconnected from your partner, navigating physical changes, and rebuilding confidence. My clinical focus includes erectile dysfunction, decreased libido, difficulty reaching orgasm, body image concerns, religious conflicts around sexuality, and the real impacts of hormonal changes and physical aging on intimate relationships.

You've worked hard to create the life you want in The Villages. Your intimate relationship deserves the same attention and care you've given to other important areas of your life.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We will work together to identify and change thoughts and behaviors that are interfering with your sexual life and help you to create a healthy and fulfilling sex life - based on what you want and need.

A lot of what I do is addressing underlying causes for problems such as low desire, pain with intercourse and erectile dysfunction. Then, I provide information to help you move forward with your sex life.

I teach individuals and couples how to get in touch with their own sexuality and provide the tools to help them create a mutually pleasurable sex life.

I never tell someone to do something sexually and no sexual activity occurs during a session. Sex therapy is talk therapy, meaning we “talk” about sexual health.

  • Individual sessions involve us talking about the things that are most important to you. I intentionally create a relaxed, safe and supportive environment so you feel comfortable talking and sharing your thoughts and feelings.

Although I have a rough plan of the roadmap I think is most effective to help you, I gear each session to what you need most to talk about that day.

Typically, we spend time exploring your past and how that impacts your current beliefs and behaviors. We also set mutually agreed upon goals to guide the process, or roadmap we’ll use during therapy to make the life transformation you want.

I believe that therapy is a relationship. I work hard to ensure we are building the type of nonjudgemental connection that will help you find success in therapy. Research shows one of the most important factors in your success is the quality of our relationship.

  • Great question!

I am different from most therapists in that my style is very direct. I share information, offer suggestions and don’t shy away from challenging you to consider making changes to your thoughts, feelings and behaviors.

Although I always endeavor to be warm and empathetic, I want you to get results. I believe you are paying me for my many years of education and experience.

I am the type of therapist I would want for myself.

  • This varies based on your time and financial resources.

Most of my clients start out weekly and then transition to twice per month and then eventually once per month.

  • Everyone’s therapy experience is unique to them. One of the most important factors in your success is your desire to change. I’ve found that my most successful clients attend sessions on a regular basis and are willing to do exercises and implement suggestions in-between appointments.

Research shows most clients feel much better after 12-15 sessions.

I have clients that meet regularly until they feel they have accomplished the majority of their goals and then return on a quarterly or twice yearly basis for a check-in.

Those desiring to “fast-track” their therapy can opt to participate in a therapy intensive. You can learn more about therapy intensives HERE.

  • Neither is better. Research shows you can achieve the same results from either in-person or online therapy. The choice comes down to personal preference, along with both your and my availability. Many of my online clients prefer the efficiency of not wasting travel time to and from my office. Others prefer the confidentiality of online therapy.

  • Individual sessions typically last 50 - 80 minutes and occur weekly or bi-weekly.

Therapy intensives are intentionally designed to jumpstart your progress and help you to feel better faster. They range from 4 to 8 to weekend intensives and can cover the same ground you would in months of therapy.

I conduct intensives both in-person and online for your convenience.

  • Please contact me to schedule a consultation. Therapy is a special relationship and each person has unique needs. I want to ensure we are the right fit for one another.
